Default Wide body yet?

Now that the SC is on the way the 2nd thing I would like to do is the wide body conversion.

I've seen plenty of pics of cars with different wheel/tire sizes and none of them IMO look good. I just do not care for the look of the wheels with anything outside of stock offset.

With what I'm expecting to be around 570rwhp I want a bigger wheel out back without being forced to go into a rain-unfriendly tire.

There was talk of it but nothing has come out. A few shops/vendors talked about it but not heard much.

ACS had indicated that they were coming out with a rear wide body kit in the Spring.
X treme Supercars has one out already, see link.

Do you just like the widebody look?? I am asking because I think with just new rims you can fit the C6 Z06 wide tires on your Stingray. Ben at WeaponX has tons of options. I myself prefer the sleek body on the C7 but widebody on the C6.

So you know...HRE has offsets where you can get a 12 inch wheel in the rear and a 375 tire. The offset is perfect and it does not stick out at all.

Not sure if this is in your budget but just wanted to give you some consideration. Btw, I'm supercharged too and the 375 in the rear still doesn't stick.

For the money, quality of fit and finish of the OEM parts, they can't be beat. I can do the rear kit for under $4200 and the whole thing under $5900. I have done a few of these already and can also take care of the exact wheel/tire needs for the setup.

I was going to do a wide body. To do it right, the rockers and rear bumper need replaced and if you're just making wider fender flares which will leave the wide wheels hanging out of the wheel wells on the front and rear of the car. They already taper in some now, I couldn't even imagine them hanging out anymore. The sides of the car would be torn up from the road rash and you'd have to run some truck looking mud flaps on both sides to try and block it.

Here's mine with the wide body on it

20x10 with Pirelli 295s
21x12.5 with Pirelli 375s

Ben,

Is the $5,900 painted?

Aesthetics aside just looking for traction and better tire/wheel choices.

No sorry not possible. Needs to be painted with the car. Each GM color code actually varies in production dates so they can be slightly differenct and thus need matched to the car.

I should have stated the question better.

Does that include paint, which from what you say it does not.

Whats a ballpark on getting it painted?

The C7 can almost run a 325/30-19 rear tire on a 19 x 12 79mm wheel. "Almost" means that it might work better at 84mm wheel offset.

To run the 325/30-19 on a 19 x 12 59mm wheel requires the wide body.

Here's a square tire setup:

Front, 315/30-18 Rival, 18 x 10.5 58mm, C5 Z06 rear wheel
Rear, 315/30-18 Rival, 18 x 11, 75mm, Oz Alleggerita
.

You cannot run anything over a x11" in an 18" wheel on the C7 with a proper offset. It's not a fender issue, it's the upper control arm.

Yeah, as I look it over I can only say that the 18 x 12 rear wheels work at Z06 offsets. And that would require the widebody. The idea of using the 335/30-18 rear tire is because both the Rival and the Rival S are available in that size. (The upcoming T1 suspension kit might include slimmer and stronger control arms.)

But there's not much tire choice in 325/30-19. There's the RE-11 which was once considered to be an autocross tire. There's the Pilot Sport Cup 2 which TR shows as a closeout. And there's a 100 treadwear R-comp in the R888
.
