If you're using a lift, do you still need to use a pad/block/pucks? Or is that only for using a jack?
Put more simply, if I take my care to a non dealer for things like replacing tires etc, should I be concerned or need to inform them on how to lift the car if they are using a lift?
So I don't own pucks. I called my local NTB store and they claim to have pucks. They are basically just taking the wheels off and swapping my tires on a different set of rims. They are charging me $64. Dealer wants over $100
It's not far-fetched for them to have them, as there are a myriad of vehicles that require them - almost all of my cars from the last 10 years have required them in some capacity.
They should have a 4-point with rubber pucks - nice to have something hooked into the frame, but we all know an eye hook isn't going to save the car if it starts to slide.
As long as you tell them it's a Corvette with the standard jack puck holes, they should have no issue. I'm sure they do hundreds of Corvettes per year.
