Default Jacking advise needed

So I don't want to do anything that will risk damage to me or the car, so I'll ask this before I get started.

I have read the How-to that is posted on the Sticky's and found it very helpful. Also read the OM. I'm going to swap wheels and change brake fluid at the same time.

But to nail it down as a best method, do I place the floor jack with reverse-logic puck on the shipping slot, jack it up, then place a jack stand just FORWARD to it to support the car? Or, is it the other way around? Place the floor jack next to the shipping slot, then place the jack stand under the shipping slot with the puck?

Or something else all together?

Thanks for the help.

Ron

Not sure I am following you. How would you put a jack stand there before jacking up the car? I think you read this post: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...fications.html

If not place jack stands at green circles after you jack up the car.

Ok, so jack it using the shipping slot (red circle) then place jack stand at green circle on same side? I can do that.

Correct. Do you have jacking pucks? You will want to purchase some or make some before placing a jack there.

Yes, I bought the reverse logic pucks to use while jacking up using the shipping slots. Do I need anything between the jack stand and the green circle?

I personally use some 2x4's I cut into small pieces and put them between the jackstand and the body.

Great! Thanks!

Are the green circles the same as the "Cradle" lifting points referred to in the OM section 10-4?

That's a good question. The manual seems to imply a single jacking point on the front and rear cross members.

Yes, I was also confused and want to make sure I place the jack stand in the safest place.
