The install instructions seem to imply that the Launch Control feature is disabled when the Vitesse controller is installed. Is this correct?
I literally just opened my Vitesse delivery. I don't believe this is the case. I could be wrong but I think those yellow and blue wires that speak about launch control are for a potential future upgrade to the Vitesse device on cars (most) that don't have launch control. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
Launch control is not disabled. The instructions say that the extra wires are for features related to line lock/launch control that may be added in the future.
Hey Patches and FlyingScot...any way to get a more thorough install guide and or further photos of install?
Not much to it at all. Remove accel pedal and disconnect connector. Plug Vitesse into the two connectors you just disconnected. Reinstall accel pedal. Run Vitesse harness along upper tunnel area towards center console. (I heat-insulated it and tucked it behind the top of the carpet.) Run the controller box harness under the center console. (Use the MGW video that shows how to remove the console to run the wire under it.) I pulled the USB module from the center cubby and used a rat tail file to create a small relief in the edge of the USB module cutout to allow the Vitesse controller cable to pass by it. I then put the cable through the cutout, replaced the USB module, mounted the controller next to it, ran the cable back to the Vitesse circuit board and plugged the connector into it.
That's pretty much it.
SP0 is the equivalent of stock throttle performance.
Does it also effect the throttle delay when taking your foot off the gas? In other words with a manual transmission do you actually get engine breaking when taking your foot off the gas?

It only affects the amplitude of the throttle when it is depressed. It has no effect when the accelerator is let go.
I see a lot of discussion on where to put the controller box but where do you put the other box? It doesn't seem that it would fit down near the pedal. I'd like to have an idea before I fold myself into a pretzel to get under there.
The harness is long enough to where I ran it from the pedal up to the top of the carpet edge that runs along the tunnel. I pushed the harness between the carpet and tunnel after I wrapped it in heat insulation. The main box containing the circuit board was also wrapped in heat insulation and pushed behind the carpet and tunnel near the area parallel to my right knee on the driver's side of the audio stack. I then ran the control box cable from the center console back to the main circuit board box and plugged it in to that. I made sure I wrapped the harness in insulation end to end to keep it protected from heat and chafing.
So I installed mine today. Once I figured out how to release the connector it was easy not counting the uncomfortable position it required for me to bend into. Not sure how big guys do it. Gotta give the Vitesse the thumbs up. It does exactly what they claim and it makes the car the way it should have come and with lots of adjustability. I even tried it in the top setting of 9 where 50% throttle depression gives 100% of throttle which some people are claiming is too wild for use. Seemed pretty good to me, but then I'm used to my KTM motorcycle which has a very touchy drive by wire throttle. My only bitch is there was no good place to put the wire coming from the connector on the foot petal without a chance of your throttle foot hitting it, so I duct taped it to the rubber foot guard on the rug beside your throttle foot. Tacky but you can't see it. Anyway for $180 it makes the car more fun and more interesting to drive and one more thing to dick around with which is great. To get an idea of how it works I held the throttle at a steady position and then hit the settings button from 0 up through 9 and it just accelerated away; pretty cool.

I put the circuit box the same place that PATCHES did. No difficulty, enough play in the carpet to slide it in there like a glove and then tucked the wiring in the tunnel area. I removed the center console extension (small triangle piece) on the driver's side.
There is plenty of empty space back there to wrap the excess wiring and zip tie it. I cut out a small notch on the extension piece as a "pass thru" for the wire and place the controller on the lower portion of the dash (with double sided tape), kindly directly below the start button. Easy install. Took me about 30 mins to install and less than a minute to calibrate the controller.
There were questions about what if you take your car in for warranty work and they see the Vitesse unit. I took my C7 in today for a few small issues and the service rep saw the controller box in the center console when I went to turn it down to 0 since they're not familiar with it.
The rep asked me if it was a throttle controller and I responded with "Yes". He asked me where I got it and I gave him Vitesse's name. He asked how I liked it and did it work as advertised and I proceeded to give him a description of the product and how it works. He thought the location of the box was cool as he'd seen several Camaro's with them and they were mounted exposed on the dash.
He told me he owns a 2013 Camaro and didn't like the lag in the throttle and is using a Diablo Intune to minimize the throttle lag.
At no time did he say the Vitesse would affect any of the warranty work on the car and was very matter-of-fact about it.
Just got around to installing the Vitesse throttle controller on my 17' stingray. Was able to route everything behind the carpet and secure the box behind console area. Routed controller into center console. Great that there were so many pictures on here to assist the install. There is a night and day difference using the controller! My wife asked why car had more power, seemed faster was her comment. Running at a setting of 6, car moves out with a tap of the pedal. This has definitely improved the joy of driving.
Yeah, this is really a great mod. I had a '15 Z51 A8 and the best driving experience I had was when I had the Vitesse turned up to 6+ and had my Range AFM disabler running. The car was like a whole new car in terms of response and power. On the downside my MPG went down a bit.
I just traded in the Z51 for a Z06 this weekend but it has been raining so I have not had a chance to try out the Z06 with the Vitesse yet.

The Z06 has a steady band of power but it still has some lag. Once I can get the Vitesse in the Z06 and have some sunny & warm days I can comment better on how it changes the behavior. Although I don't think I would be boosting up to level 9 like I did on the Z51.
