So since it's getting time for the big sleep, when connecting the battery tender on my C7, how do you get the power cord out of the interior? I have a cover for it also.
Mine is a convertible & I leave the tender outside the car with the wire to the trunk socket at the back corner of the car. Make sure it's flat and gently close the lid to the locked position. The cord is not pinched and still slides through the rubber seal if you pull it a bit.
Most just gently close the hatch or trunk on the cord. Personally, I HATE to squeeze an electrical cord for ANY reason especially for extended periods of time. Were I to store my car for the winter, I would do this: http://www.ls2.com/forums/showthread...hlight=battery
As it is, I live in Florida and drive the car year round. I still slap the car on the C-Tek when I park in the garage. I just like to have the battery topped off at all times. There are a lot of days where I do nothing but short trips and might not get the battery fully recharged before I park it for the night.
I partially close the hatch. Leaves a big enough gap for the cord. The charger stays on the floor next to the car and away from anything that could catch on fire should the charger or wires short out or overheat. Just to be 99.9999% safe.
