Default Intune I-1000 compatibility question

I can get a very good deal on a used but unmarried intune I-1000. It was used on an 2005 neon srt. The owner says its compatible with GM products. Does anyone know it it will work on a 15 stingray?

Yes, it would be the same as "new", which is compatible. Just install the DS Downloader software on your PC, and when you plug in the unit to your computer, it will automatically update the tool if connected to the Internet. Then you're off and running. Just make sure that when you apply the DS tune you are in Run mode (GREEN light and dash lights/chimes - hold the start button for ~7 seconds without foot on brake) and that you set the transmission to Manual if given the option (since the tool can't program the A8).

It will work just update the unit with the cord that comes with it to your computer. Then just had a new update a few weeks back for the corvette.

DSDownloader is not used at all for an inTune.. that is only for the Trinity...

the inTune has its own updater program on itself that automatically runs/launches when connected to a Windows PC...

nice.. if you're not going to use it then why not restore the original backup to your car in order to unlock/reset the tool for the next person?? hahah...

To the buyer, it will cost you $160 to get the inTune unlocked/reset.

so that's 360 for a used intune with no warranty.. when you can get the brand new inTune i2 for 400.. with warranty.. and it's quicker, has more features, can puchase additional licensing to tune more than 1 vehicle at a time with the same single tool, etc..

I restored my original tune that was the last time I want to deal with your product.

Every dam time I tried to do something with that POS it screwed up, I'm done with it before it screws up the PCM.

I'm guessing user error if it is EVERY time you tried it... If not, they would have replaced it.

Agreed. I have 4 InTunes at my house and I've never had any errors or issues.

Probably apparent that my experience has been with a Trinity. Mistake was assuming the software side of the InTune was the same. Upside is that updating an InTune seems even easier.
