Have seen a lot of different videos of C7's with a cam or other upgrades and they sound so much more impressive than my car. What would be the best exhausts to look at for making the car sound more aggressive. I would still like to retain NPP for road trips or late nights.
What's your header setup? B@B has a fusion catback setup for the c7. Sounds awesome. Let me know if your interested.
It's a stage 2 cam from Vengeance. Not sure the exact specs. Also have ARH longtubes w/cats due to emissions testing. I'm at ~860rwhp and it pales in comparison to LS3 cars with similar or less power. All bite, no bark.

That is odd. With my ARH LT's and no cam my 15 shakes the house to its foundation when I start it in my garage. I thought my LS3 was tamer with headers than the LT1.
When not in boost, all I hear is the BOV but I don't feel my C7 with an NPP switch to force the exhaust open that is tame. When new, I agree it sounded much more tame over a stock C6.

I'm with you here! I have the same cam but TSP Headers and no cats. Wide open throttle it's loud but just sitting and idling it's extremely tame. It wakes up and lopes a lot more for some reason idling through a parking lot with the clutch pushed in and coasting along than just sitting. VR tried to put the stage 3 in mine but weren't comfortable with the tolerances so put the stage 2 in. The stage 3 obviously fits in the LT4 though. I'm guessing the valve covers and other things like that are slightly different.
I contemplated the Fusion because that's what I had on my C6 but just hate the thought of spending that kind of money for a little bit of sound.
I too wish mine sounded like a decent sized cammed LS3/LS7 with that choppy pound at idle.

The AFM is required or the car will throw a code. It's not possible to program it out at this time.
As far as the NPP valve, there are times when I need to the exhaust to be quieter (late nights, long road trips, etc).
I feel your pain.
My 2007 had no cats, LTs and the NPP could be opened up using a button on the visor. Absolutely rocked. Quiet as a church mouse or a little vulgar. This NPP on the '14 is just fine when I want it shut but not loud enough when I want to drive w/o the wife in the car and be a little full time crude on the noise scale.
Maybe someone will figure out how to make a little more noise on demand.
Tuning has a lot to do with the lope. I have aa small cam and it had a mean lope when I first put my ARH headers on. After I got it tuned it tamed it down a lot. I know this has nothing to do with the volume of sound but the wilder lope made the car sound much louder at idle.

Yeah tuning can make cam A sound meaner than it is or tamer than it is.
The AFM valve has nothing to do with the engine or cam. It's the valve just before the mufflers. You are talking about a DoD kit that caps the oil channels that deactivates the lifters. Those are welded close on mine as you can see in the picture below:
