Default Supercharger/Mod Regrets?

Jdp motorsports is starting on my '15 z51 a8 tomorrow with an ECS supercharger, methanol, arh long tube headers, catch can/breather, and tune.

Excited, but still a little nervous I'm just going to be roasting the tires and fishtailing everywhere I go!

Does anyone have regrets or hate the drivability of their c7 after similar mods? This is my daily driver unless there's snow on the ground or it's raining.

I have the same mods, plus a cam. I have zero regrets. I do wish I did more boost though. My car made 660/580 with the 7psi restrictor plate (ECS kit). I want to go up to 9-10 psi and make 720-750.

You'll love it. Just ease into it. It's a lot of power.

Thanks for your business guys!!

Centrifugal superchargers are very easy to modulate on the street, I think you will learn the new characteristics very quickly.

I have the same setup, ecs kit no restrictor plate. The only thing I wish I did different is get race cats. Sitting at a stop light, windows down, you can really smell it.

You'll get use to the power quickly if you really get on it a lot. If you are like me you will want some new rear tires quickly. There is no point in punching it with stock tires in 1st or 2nd. Hell the other day in this cool weather going down the highway at around 70ish I dropped it down into 3rd and hammered it and got side ways. PUCKER! lol

Ive had my ECS and meth kit in for about a month or so now. I am running stock exhaust and no cam. 11 LBS. of boost and no restrictor plate.
The first few days I was a little nervous driving the car, it has so much power it was unnerving to the point where I asked Doug at ECS if we could put a modified plate in to run about 9 lbs and tame it a little ( but I stayed with the 11 LBS). It took me about a week to learn the power curve and how to understand how the boost and meth works together while driving. Now I'm completely happy with the power and am having loads of fun with the car. Its a great feeling knowing you can smoke just about anyone out there, even a stock ZO6.
Would do it again without hesitation.

What kind of power did you make? Did Doug tune it?

What size of tires? I'm still debating what tires to put on my ECS/Headers car. Pilot Super Sports or Pilot Sport Cup 2's.

And to OP: The power is fantastic and addicting. Perfectly fine and tame on the street when driving normally. But about 3.5K RPM's, an absolute monster when pinned. A tire upgrade is absolutely needed if you plan on getting on it in 1st and 2nd though. You will have no regrets after getting these mods.

I have Sport Cup 305/30 19
Tires are great but being 1/2 inch shorter I had Doug at ECS reprogram the speedo so its accurate. I also changed the front tires to non runflats because everyone I spoke to said you can't or shouldn't mix and match run flats with regular tires. It may not be needed but why chance it.

Here they are on the car. They give the illusion of being a smaller tire but are actually 1/2 inch taller than the fronts.Name: cup 2 pics.jpg

Ok, that's what size I figured you had on there. I definitely prefer the 19/20 (Z51) set-up over the 19/19, but they don't make the 315 Pilot Sport Cup 2's in a 20" diameter. I'd have to go down to a 19" wheel like you have. I have mixed feelings about the look of 19/19. It's either 315 PSC2's on a 19" wheel, or 305 MPSS on a 20" wheel. One gives better performance, one gives better looks. Can't seem to have it both ways.

Michelin is also coming out with a new tire after the new year, so I would wait. Also Nitto has a nice tire that is 305/35 19 which looks really nice and is an R compound also.

Dropped it off this morning. Jordan assured me it'd be great and I'd love it when it was finished, though it might take a few days getting through the learning curve of handling the extra power.

Did you mean 325? No way you are fitting 345 on a Stingray... Have to have a Z06 for that.
