Default LT4 pump = Cam with larger fuel lobe?

Curious if adding the LT4 pump is basically the same thing as adding a cam with a larger fuel lobe? Or is there additional value in doing with LT4 pump AND having a cam with larger fuel lobe?

Thinking about adding the LT4 pump someday, but curious if the cam I already have would just make the fuel delivery the same?

I would say only upgrade the parts if you need more fuel. If you have enough room with just the fuel lobe then leave it at that.

Agreed. Where my head was.... is maybe if I did the LT4 pump and have the cam with larger lobe could I ditch the meth if I stay at a reasonable boost level. That's where my thought process is. Or possibly running flex fuel.

With your power, you'll definitely need the pump to support E85. On my NA build I'm running E85 and have the fuel lobe on my cam, but if I do anything else to add power I'll need to upgrade to the LT4 pump and injectors.

Even with the LT4 pump, rails, and injectors and two tank fuel pumps I am having trouble keeping up with Ethanol.... Definitely can't run E85. It's going to be around E25, I think.

Wow...Interesting. Are you going to run meth also Higgs? I really just don't want to ever HAVE to have meth.

Higgs is a larger CI motor making north of 800rwhp, so I can see his setup still having limitations on pure e85...
Plus I think Higgs is still I. The stock cam lobe??
700rwhp id say no problem with the LT4 hardware, but I have not personally done it.

I'm around 500rwho now on motor with stock cam on e67 and I plan to upgrade to the lt4 hpfp only and shoot for 650rwhp on that same fueling. Should know something before too long. About to take my NA setup back to the track then install the blower that's been sitting here for about 4 months

I have to run meth with a larger cam lobe, LT4 pump/injectors and e85. It's making around 870rwhp though.

Check out this post from Joe@CPR. He has a complete flex fuel system that I will be considering if I ever decide I want more power out of my Ti head unit.

TA you are correct w/regard to my engine.

DD, I am running Joe's kit, essentially, it is an extra lift pump and all the hardware that integrates with DSteck's flex fuel kit. It's a great set up.

It did 12.75lbs on the e85 dyno pull and 13.23 on 93 pump gas. Same dyno, but car was first tuned with the new pulley and then e85 the next day.
