Default 2014 Corvette clutch chatter issues, need help

hello guys im new to the whole corvette world,

me and my wife just bought a used 2014 stingray with 12k miles on it,

it has had some bad clutch chattering starting off in 1st gear, it seems to only do it when the clutch is warmed up,

i have driven manual cars for 20 years now and never had anything chatter like this,

i took it to a local chevy dealership here in orlando "carl black" and they tested it twice and said it is normal operation for a stingray,

is any one else having this problem or is it just the nature of the beast with a twin disk set up?

im affraid after 2 weeks of owning the car i now have to fork out for a new clutch on it with only 12k

im also working on getting it to another dealership for a 2nd opinion,

it gets really bad trying to get up my driveway into the garage.

also whats the chance of getting it fixed under waranty ?

any help would be much apreciated,

I sure hope you don't need to pay for a new clutch. That job costs a fortune. Especially if you have Z51.

I'd be very concerned with clutch chatter at 12k miles. If it is the clutch I hope it is a defect and not due to the original owner beating the snot out of it.

I'd try another dealer for sure. Just keep in mind that a clutch, like brakes, are wear items and not typically covered under warranty unless there is a defect.

Good luck.

My dealer told me 7,500 miles for wear items. I think since you bought the car preowned, I'd press them to fix it as a "good faith repair". Usually they'll do those once for a customer. Good luck.

thanks guys,

well if the 2nd dealership says its normal for a corvette i will be content with that,

if i adjust my driving some it doesnt get so bad
essentially almost boging the car out and starting out with no gas,

I had a failed burnout once when I was roasting off the last bit of tread on my original tires. Uneven surface or something caused only one wheel to spin. I could definitely smell clutch for a little while after that and got back chatter in 1st gear. I drove it gently and took it very easy on the clutch and after maybe 2 weeks, it went back to normal and felt good. Could be something similar to what you are experiencing.

Yup, same issue. Had it to the dealer, they replaced the flywheel. Still chatters in first. Also had a problem with the pedal sticking a few inches and they replaced the master and slave cylinders which has made it much better but still not completely fixed. I am going to drive it for a while and see what happens. I test drove a few others and they did not do this. It really hurts the driving experience.
