Part of my build is going to be headers, still debating between 1 7/8" ARH's or stepped Super Pro LG's. If you have an opinion, please chime in. I can buy the LG's for $300 cheaper.
One of my goals is to keep IAT's as low as possible: 170 t-stat, removed plenum cover, remove rear hood seal, Z06 grill, will do some heat insulation on the CAI and radiator hoses, ect...
And I want to Jet Coat my new headers. Has anyone done this... what application did you go with, what did you pay, what kind of results did you, how much heat do you eliminate with ceramic coating...
And if you have any pictures of how they turned out would love to see them,

Jet coat will for sure lower the temp under the hood. But make sure you get the high $$ jet coating of the stuff it is like to temp of 2200 deg. Not the lower temp stuff, if you get that one in a good yr r so it will start to come off. & make sure they also do the inside of the headers..

I have arh headers and after a few weeks of research and pricing I went with swaintech for coatings and love it!!

Jet Hot and SwainTech both do great coatings. One thing that probably turns people off on Swain is the rough finish (at least I haven't seen a smooth coat finish, correct me if I'm wrong).
It would help to some degree coating them to bring down temps, and it does keep them looking brand new by coating them as the coating will never discolor on you.
We can drop ship right to your coater, and I know a number of our dealers offer coated packages with our headers as well.

I went with Kooks and Swain Tech is by far the best coating out there. Yes it's thick and not smooth, but hell who cares. It's the best keeping under the hood temps down!

in terms of headers, i always go with what my local shop is selling and installing. Manly because they offer deals this way. on my LS3 it was kooks headers, now they are pushing ARH headers. I think headers bought from any big name company is going to be totally fine with no problems. remember they are stainless steal pipes.
I would have no problem running LG headers or ARH.
I do know the owner of ARH seems like a really nice guy who is active on other forums, and loves having people stop by his company. if that counts for anything.
This is not headers but rather the OEM manifold that I ported, polished and sent to Jet Hot for their top of the line coating. They do great work and my under hood temps are significantly lower. A little over $400.
There's more air moving in and out of the engine bay than you think. Sitting in stop and go hwy traffic on a hot summer will be the most heat you'll see. When you get rolling, air flow will cool you down anyway.
I got TSP LT catless delivered for $930 on sale. They are on par or better than anyone else. All the posts about fitment problems are due to individuals or shops that don't know how to adjust at install time. It just takes common sense to install properly.
With all respect, I wouldn't get too caught up with low IAT. Fresh air is tuned over in the engine compartment every couple seconds at speed.
I coated my headers inside and out, inside it received a 2000 degree black high temp coating, and the outside I did in a polished look. I have had them on for 2 years with no flaking or issues. They do a great job of reducing underhood temps in the car. Your headers sit right next to the engine block so protecting them from heat is a great idea. You'll help keep all of your temps down by doing coatings.
I used a local coating company in Sheboygan, WI called Classic Coatings. I think it was $400 out the door.

Tks leadville, I am going to pursue some local shops here in Minneapolis and see if I can find anyone who has experience with long tubes. I had headers on my last two C6's and always hated how the floor boards and everything else got hot. And anything we do to keep IAT's lower is going to add HP

Try Modern Automotive Performance and/or Grimspeed; both are in the Twin Cities. I've used MAP's coating on quite a few cast manifolds and tubular headers & downpipes with good results. Their black 2000F coating holds up quite well; that's what I have on my ported C7 exhaust manifolds.
