The Mode Selector on my 10k miles A8 is stuck in Sport mode. No change if I turn the control **** right or left. Car seems to be running fine in Sport mode.

What does this mean?
Tks for any comments or info.
Did you by some chance change the DIC Settings to Sport instead of Drive Mode ???
Exactly what is stuck in Sport mode? The round speedometer / tach display (Sport mode shown) or the letter at the bottom center?(T shown is Touring, can also be Sport, Tr for Track, Eco, or Weather). The letters at the bottom show driving mode selected by the rotary **** on the console. The dash display format can be fixed or linked to driving mode using the steering wheel controls. The HUD display mode (2LT and 3LT) is set from the HUD controls.

BRCC:
I have experimented with the display settings several times before in bode Sport and Touring modes and the Mode Selector **** function has continued to function normally - changes from S to T and back again easily.
Now the Mode Selector **** will not change from Sport to anything else.
Is this a problem with the **** control or the trans computer program or ?
My Stingray has not had the trans control program upgrade yet.

Hi Ron,
The driving mode and the display are stuck in Sport mode. The display and the driving mode do not change when I rotate the Mode Selector **** left or right. My Stingray has the performance exhaust so I can tell the difference audibly when the driving mode changes from Touring to Sport since the second pair of exhaust pipes open in Sport mode.

So the letter below the tach will not change from S? Sometimes you need to hold the mode selector in the left or right position for a second or two. It is touchy. I'm guessing there may be a bad switch, connector, or cable if the S won't change. You have a warranty.

Good luck!

Hi Ron
I have tried holding the Mode Control **** to each side for several seconds to no avail.
I have spoken to the Corvette expert Service rep at my Chevy dealer and he suspects the switch controlled by the ****. I'll find out Tues when it is diagnosed. I plan to have the A8 computer program upgrade done also.
Thanks for your input

It's the switch, had issues with the 1 in my zr1, no codes but it was bad. I did not change it until I was ready to sell the car. In my case the switch failed because the GM automatic shifter touched it the whole time and suspected that it exerted pressure on the switch causing it to fail. But maybe not

My understanding is that the NPP opens under hard acceleration regardless of mode. RPM signal to the control module controls things.

Well, no. That only happens in Tour. In eco/weather (stealth), it does not open at all. In sport, I believe its above 2k or 3k. In track, it is always open in 1st or 2nd and above 1750 rpm in 3rd, 4th or 5th, etc. Or close to that.

Heh ........ Other than when the systems went through their qc checks at BG, my car has never seen eco, stealth or, tour mode. "It's track mode a t t baby !" That's why the car has the NPP exhaust.
