Default aFe intake and ECS kit

I already have an afe intake on my car now, and enjoy the looks. I'm in the middle of installing a Novi 1500 kit and realized that it doesn't look like I'd be able to modify the afe to be used with it (without cutting, adding couplers, etc) -- is there something I'm missing or is the intake really just not compatible?

Call Chris or Doug. You'll most likely have to modify your current intake.

Yea, I'll most likely, reluctantly, go back to a modified stock box and sell the Afe -- just wanted to make sure there wasn't any other option

Ecs has done them with the AFE. Give them a all and they'll help you out.

Was there any power defferance from stock air box and a filter vs the AFE intake

I think it was pretty close to the same power because of the high flowing filter ECS uses with their kits. I'm fairly certain you would have to go without a restrictor plate. Doubt their plate fits in the aFe. I'm sure it flows a bit better than a stock intake so there will be a little bit of boost difference.

So there would be barley a defferance by puting in a high flow filter on the stock air of or adding a AFE full intake cuz I was thinking to get one

Yea nothing substantial, but if you like the look I get it.

Doug and Chris can help you make it work with their kit.

We have used aftermarket intakes with our kit, but you will need to modify it to fit.

Downsides would be that the restrictor plate needs to fit into our air filter, and there isn't any power increase that we have noticed.

Hope that helps.
