Why the huge price difference between LS9 and LT4?

Not exactly. The con rods in the Ls9 are very pricey units made in Austria by Pankl Industries. They are forged Titanium. I believe they cost somewhere around $900 each. The LT4 rods are forged powdered metal. Cheap as hell to make. LS9 also has a much higher quality block with steel main caps. Both cost a lot more to make. Bigger, better supercharger (2.3 vs 1.7L). Not sure that completely justifies the cost but it certainly explains some of it.
