This is incorrect. PTM 5 RACE has traction control without active handling. You can plant your right foot coming out of a corner and the computer will modulate throttle to mitigate wheel spin. But you're fully able to spin out at any moment if you upset the car as there is no stability control.
If you're at a drag strip, it would be much safer to single press the center button to turn off traction control but leave stability control on in whatever mode you're using.
Mindbend, in your settings menu in the center stack screen you'll see an option for driver settings. You can choose a steering mode or exhaust mode to be locked and not change regardless of any suspension mode you choose (Tour, Sport, Track).
Thanks for the info. Do any of the C7 followers know if Z06 C6 had equivalent option to shut off all active handling without turning off traction control?

Had a c6 zr1 and it totally pissed me off when I first got it bc I thought I turned Traction Control OFF and 2nd gear clutch kicked it into a turn and the thing cut power INSTANTLY and locked up the freakin front wheel to correct the slide! So STABILITY control is still on even in RACE MODE it will let you power slide slightly but as soon as you get a little angle it cuts power and don't even try clutch kicking it even in race mode. You have to HOLD the DARN TRACTION CONTROL BUTTON for like 7 SECONDS so you can actually play with the car. Flippin ridiculous if you ask me. Why buy a performance car to have nannies drive the thing for you? Here's my advice buy a miata learn how to drive then step up to an s2k or c5 proceed from there.
ZR1 gets sideways

Agreed. Also, "Sport 2" or whatever it is before Race definitely has some stability control built in. I'm definitely faster in Race than 2 and my actually fast friends are significantly faster.
Dr Z- I am having the same issue with my steering wheel tugging in a high speed left hander. My dealer can find nothing wrong of course. Were you able to resolve this issue?

There may be nothing wrong with your system. Read the attached PDF. I copied and edited the OM PTM description to try and make it a little clearer and then added the Ask Tadge detailed engineering answer from August 2015 when somebody asked for a better description of PTM.
According to the OM, the C7 Corvette New Owner School at Spring Mountain and Tadge, if you are running in Track Sport 2 (which is different than Sport Mode) or Track Race Modes there is no stability control it is turned off. So if you are getting tugging on the steering it is being caused by something else.
