I purchased a used 2014 with 2000 miles about 6 months ago. With the car at idle, there was a strange sound coming from the engine. I was told it was the auxiliary fuel pump and they all sound that way. After putting on another 1500 miles, I returned the car to the dealer only to be told that the flex plate was faulty and they would need to drop the trans and the drive line to fix it.
It is now in the shop a week and i can only hope that they know how to put it back together. No word yet on what may have caused
the plate to go bad.
Wondering if others have had this problem and how it was resolved.
I am new to the forum and would appreciate your thoughts.
Thanks.

You are not the first plus these cars has had a part in the trans also to have to be replace.
Just picked up the car from the dealer. Their explanation was that the flex plate was too thin and the bolts holding it in place didn't go in far enough to keep it from making noise.
Drove the car out and the noise is even worse. Now in addition to the noise I have more vibration in the steering wheel and I am getting resistance as I let off the gas, kinda like down shifting. Not Fun. Car is back at the dealer.
Why did they put it back together if it was too thin and the bolts were too long?
That was the original explanation of why I was having the noise.
Now I am told that they fixed it with a new flex plate that was thicker?? I know, hard to believe. What amazes me is that they said they test drove the car.
