Default E85 questions

14' Z51 M7, I have LG Super Pro long tubes, ported intake and TB by WeaponX, AFE, tuned and dyno'd by Doug Rippie. Car runs very good but want to go to the next level:

1. What kind of gains would you expect adding E85 to this set up?

2. Does the car need to be retuned again after adding E85?

3. Are there any downsides to running E85 that I should be aware of?

4. What would you expect the total cost for the flex fuel kit and install?

Tks, DO

1 you'd see 15-25 usually

2 absolutely

3 gas mileage goes down when running e85 but who cares

4 I can get you the sensor kit for $400 and it would take less than an hour for a shop to hook it up and you'd have a couple hours of dyno time

Thanks Ben, you always pull through. I will let you know when I am ready to order the kit. One more question. So do I fill the car up with E85 on my way to the shop so they can tune with alcohol in the tank?

You want to show up with very little gas in the car to the shop. The less the better. Once the sensor is installed they will pour e85 in, then tune it.

That's how my shop did mine.

Not necessary if you have a flex sensor.

Can't put E85 in the tank until the sensor is installed and the car tuned for the E85.
