Hi everyone. Brand new to the forum and to the corvette world. 2016 lt1 A8 was purchased a very few short months ago. So now I Have a question about exhaust and the NPP option.
So I realize now that the NPP "dual mode" exhaust is an optional item on the corvette. I am tired of sounding like a granny as I'm cruising out of the driveway and down the road...... this has led me into exhaust research. I want to turn heads.
Is there any way to install the NPP valve or "baffle" onto stock exhaust that didn't come with it? The screen inside the vehicle gives me the options for the different sound modes it can be in. And I even looked in the fuse boxes and there are 2 fuses in there that deal with the NPP module that are currently installed.
Or would it be better just to spend the $1600 for the borla (or similar) exhaust kit?
There is really no way to add the factory NPP exhaust to a standard exhaust car. The electronics and wiring to support it are not in the car.
There are aftermarket systems which can be retrofitted which are similar to the NPP. Here is a thread on one of them: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-purchase.html I don't personally have any experience with the aftermarket system as I ordered mine with NPP.
If you want to be able to quiet it down like the factory NPP system I'd recommend the B&B Fusion with retro kit. If you want it loud all the time and not have the ability to quiet it down then go with the B&B Bullets.
If you drive the car daily or take long road trips in the car I would lean more toward the Fusion even though it is pricier to eliminate the drone at cruising speeds. There are several good vendors on here that can do much better on pricing than the B&B website so shop around a little bit and make a few calls to some of the sponsored vendors here.

Great news! Thanks for the advice. The NPP option will be great to have. It's not my daily driver. More like the date night mobile and "sure lets run em" car. I will be looking around at vendors
You can also install the NPP without wiring the control valves. You get the sound and the look without the Corvette tax that you normally pay for an aftermarket exhaust. You can find used NPP exhausts for sale for a few hundred bucks.
