So i heard GM changed their coding/encryption for 2017 model year. That's why Diablo is having issues with getting the 17 programs out. Anyone else know if this is true?
Not really having issues, we have been able to flash them internally for some time, the issue is implementing the extra steps required for the 17s to our servers, etc.
Tunes for C7s are already done, as well as 17 Camaro and 17 Trucks, and are actually already in the tools, but won't work until the new steps are added....shouldn't be but a couple weeks.
Now as far as 2017 A8 guys, the TCM is not currently able to be tuned
Thanks

There is no difference. The TCM controls the transmission. In an M7 the driver controls the transmission. So engine tunes are the same for both.
Exactly. Either will allow for tuning the engine through the PCM, but unlike all previous 05-16 models, the TCM on the autos will not be able to be tuned.

Maybe the question should be...what can't the tuner do for the A8 because of the TCM encryption?
The engine tuning is the same for Auto and Manual, but the guy with the A8 will not get the same tuning experience as previous years because the tuner can't work on the A8. Correct? So you're "stuck" with the stock A8 management. Besides making the A8 shifts quicker/shorter than stock, what else can't a tuner improve because of the TCM encryption?
BTW - I had an '07 A6 and the A6 tune was a big improvement over stock. It made the shifting much much quicker. But Chevy's made a lot of improvements in the last 10 years. Considering the torque converter issues with the A8 and its already quick shifting, maybe its a good thing that the TCM is locked. IDK...just throwing it out there.

Its really as simple as that, no tuning for shift points, firmness, or trans TM. So far it seems nobody has found a simple plug and play solution that doesn't require removing the tcm, so its a tough spot that we'll have to get used to

Mike I have a Diablo tuned 2016 a8 and I believe the tuning for the tcm has been released and i just need to update the itune to the latest update?
Diablosport,
Are you saying you can't and never will offer TCM tuning for 2017? Or, are you saying you just haven't figured it out yet and it's possible TCM tuning could be incorporated at a later date?

currently, the only available method for tuning the TCM on the 2017 models involves removing the TCM from the vehicle, and sending it somewhere to be modified. Once you get it back you are then able to program it. I don't think we plan to go down that path and offer a send in unlock service for the TCM. With that in mind, until we come up with a method to flash the TCM in the vehicle, without removing it, there will be no support for the transmission controller. That is not to say there will never be support, it simply is not going to be available immediately.

Hey Mike, any update on the availability for the 2017 tunes?
Not yet, still working on implementing the new processes required for 2017, but its all ready to go other than that. We have a 2017 Silverado we have been tuning every day and I hope to see a release in the next 2-3 weeks for the i2.
