Anyone with stock ported TB & manifold seeing decent gains, its a relatively cheap mod, is it worth it on a mostly stock car (x-pipe, CAI, custom canned tune)?
I did both these mods on my base model 2014 Ported T-Body and ported intake manifold
Although I did not dyno my car after these 2 mods---I was able to do some data logging with EFLIVE software--
The data shows approx a 10% increase in airflow in the higher RPM ranges above 4000 RPM's and below that the airflow increase was approx 6%
This is validated also at P/T by logging your fuel trims--All my fuel trims went POSITIVE below 4000 by 4-6% meaning the ECM was ADDING fuel to compensate for the increased airflow
At WOT it's something different--In order to verify your AFR I used a wideband 02
This wideband info showed my fuel went leaner than STOCK at WOT or above 4000 RPM's So in order to get the AFR's back in line I had to add approx 10% to the fueling---This added fuel really picked up the HP and TQ
Without tuning you may gain minimal HP --Being that you are basically stock you should be OK as these engines come programmed very rich bone stock But add LT headers you would deff need a tune---
Bottom line--added airflow documented equals MORE HP and TQ proven by my data logger
I have LG Super Pro's with a ported intake and TB from WeaponX along with an AFE and tuned by Doug Rippie. First gear is hard to hook, 2nd breaks the tires lose, and it pulls like a train to 100 mph in 3rd. Night and day over stock. This should get you around 450-460 to the wheel. I am thinking about an E85 kit this spring and most have reported 470ish at the wheel. Not bad for a bolt on set-up, and if you go with LT's, the sound through my stock NPP's is fantastic.
Like tblu said, if you do the intake and TB without a tune you are probably going to be lean up top.
Sounds like it's well worth it, I talked to Weapon-x and plan on buying the ported TB and manifold from them. Then when diablo gets their 17 tunes out I'll get it dyno'd for the results. My baseline dyno with just a borla X-pipe was 424 HP and 423 TQ, so hoping to see 455+ with CAI, ported and tuned

Our ported Intake and TB has shown some serious gains and has also outperformed one of the leading aftermarket intakes all the way up to 6k RPM. In some places we have more than 25whp under the curb more than the high dollar aftermarket.
On LT1 was have completely tuned the car so that our numbers are not skewed by the tune. Then we added our ported LT1 intake/TB package and retuned. Using this method we have shown a proven 15-20whp all the way across the curve from the intake/TB only.
When gauging the effect of a ported manifold/TB package it is important to discern what portion of gain is achieved from the tune and what portion from the modification. Overall we have seen gains as high as 48whp with our ported package and then tuning.
Oh and BTW we offer a FULL money back guarantee if you are not happy with your ported parts and results. We have hundreds of LS and LT packages out there. Our stuff has been proven by Katech, LG, Tick Performance and some others.

do you have to tune with the ported intake and throttle body? Will it run to lean at top Rpm that would cause engine issue?
is worth it without a tune? Currently running Borla cat less x pipe and K&N filter in stock air box. I don't want to void warrenty;

You dont have to tune but to get max gains you should. We are running a special on HP Tuners right now if you want to get in on that

If any mod would require a re-tune it would be the CAI and not so much the ported T-body or intake manifold
Diablo now even offers a CAI specific tune--- When I installed but it was my AFE CAI after data
logging with a wideband 02 --my WOT fuel went lean by 13% But remember any stock tune comes overly rich anyways--- However for maximum performance and piece of mind I re adjusted my PE fueling ratio------
Also I did see some of a leaness after the Weapon X T-body but it was minimal---Depends on how many mods you have that increase airflow---- If you have a CAI--ported T-body and a ported Intake manifold then yes I would have the WOT fueling checked
The data logger is truth serum of what's actually happening--as is the wideband 02

When you port the OE intake manifold, do you modify the PVC tube that runs thru the TB opening or do you leave it alone. Thank you
I wonder if its shortened, or if material is cut off the side's to make it a little thinner and not so much of a obstruction. Personally I would think at least cut it in half and angle the opening like it is.
