So im going to get a track alignment for COTA this weekend tomorrow morning. The Gm manual says to remove one shim of the 2 shims from the upper control arms and turn the cam bolts to -2.0 camber. well my front control arms only have one shim per location. I guess GM figured these cars would be tracked. anyone have experience with this?
Cam Locks may not help. After spending two days doing alignments on 2 Z06s I am pretty sure the cam locks with their 6 different settings don't provide sufficient resolution of movement to permit optimal selection of rear camber, caster and toe.
Yes, some of that can be made up by installing various shims behind the UCA dog bones but there may be a problem getting to the numbers you want to get to.
So I , with the help of a good technician did the alignment today. 1) factory alignment was all over
Lf camber -1.0, caster 6.7, toe -.5
Rf camber -.80, caster 7.0 , toe .7
Lr camber -1.2, caster 0, toe .5
Rr camber -1.2, caster -.7 toe .5
After, we got the exact dsc heavy track alignment, after about 2.5 hrs
