Default Headlight bulb replacement

Anyone changed their headlight bulbs yet? One of mine went out. I saw the sticky, but I never understand the service manuals.

The headlight assembly looks to be in the fender. GM couldn't have made it that difficult to swap the bulbs. There must be an access panel.

I wouldn't count on it being that easy! Some cars requires front fascia removal. Not sure on the Vette. How many miles? I believe the bulbs should be under the 3/36 warranty. Not a wear item.

I have 49k miles and it's a 14. I'm not sure if it's going to be covered.

Unfortunately, the nose has to come off to get access to the headlamps. Here are some good instructions if you diy it:

Worth going by the dealer to see if in any stretch of reality they might change it under warranty. Worst case, you'll hear what they will charge you to do it and it might motivate you :-)

Got to drop the nose, pop out the pod and THEN you can change the damn bulb. The C6 had an access panel in the wheel well and all you needed was to turn the wheel and tire out of the way and you could change the bulb. NFW in the C7!.

It could be a bulb but it could also be a defective ballast. The latter more likely covered under warranty.

PS - consider changing both bulbs while you have the front facia off. There is a chance the newer bulb will give off a slightly different color.

They're definitely not cheap either. I'll try to replace both.

When I installed the Z06 grill and had the nose off, I changed both bulbs to 6,000K. No way in hell would I take the nose off to change a bulb and not change BOTH while I was in there.

Whiter. It's as white as you can go before you start going blue or purple. I had the 6Ks on my C6 and loved them so I switched to them when I did the grill.

D3S for 2014-
D1S for 2005-2013

Can't you go through the fender well, w/o taking the nose off?

We've not found that to be workable. The C6 had an access port in the wheel well, not the C7.

Don't HID need like 47, 000 volts or something like that ? I wonder where the little boxes for that are in the C7
