Default C7 Backfiring or missing

Raced a brand new Camaro Z28 today in my 2014 Stingray. Was pretty even until It started shifting and noticed a pause in acceleration and a back fire or a miss during the next two shifts. The Camaro did not have this issue and took me by about a half a car length.
Any thoughts? The more I read about this the more it seems to be common. I was thinking I may have some bad gas, plug or a timing issue.

The exhaust "pop" when shifting at WOT and redline is normal with the A6 and A8 transmissions because of a very brief fuel shutoff which allows much faster shift completion but a significant pause in acceleration isn't normal UNLESS traction control is being briefly triggered at the shift point. That brief loss of traction happens in my Z06 if the surface isn't very good and the tires aren't hot at the first few shift points and you may be experiencing the same thing. Make another run in a safe place and see if the TCS symbol pops up on the dash, if TCS is triggered then engine power is quickly reduced until the tires regain traction.
