It really depends on how much you're talking about, but I'd say no, I've not read other folks mentioning the same concern, so it may well be unique to a problem with your car. At least it's certainly not a common issue I ever hear raised.
Hopefully you have a good GM dealership nearby that will be able to inspect it? I'd guess it is now out of warranty, so perhaps any transmission shop would do, but I would generally recommend GM in this case in case it is a problem for which they have a solution already available (TSB, or Technical Service Bulletin).
