Default Exhaust Valves

How do you handle exhaust noise that exceeds track rules?

I was just at M1 Concourse in Pontiac,MI and was told I had to stop running as my car exceed their 90DBA limit.

My car has the Stage 3 Katech plus E85 Conversion with Akropovic Exhaust and 2"ARH headers.

Is there a way to program the exhaust valves to throttle back the noise at Stealth, Tour, Sport and Track so they stay either closed under Stealth and various degrees till fully open at Track?

Thanks for your input

Chuck

chuck, let me tell you what I do know:

1. running in stealth mode will not keep the valves closed at full throttle (on the stingray it does, but on the z06 it does not)

2. having the valves closed for extended periods of time at that rpm / speed will cause something to break. (in my stingray, it broke the valves as there was too much back pressure)

3. there is a local porsche guy who has some sort of gps enabled gadget installed that closes his valves only at pre programmed gps locations (at the sound station) Not sure what it's called or what it cost, but it does exist.

4. nobody makes a turn down kit for this car, and i'm mocking up something removable to test. however i'm not sure even this will help with all of the mods you have. that thing must scream like a banshee at WOT.

Hello guys,

I was counting on this mode to pass the homologation tests in France.

So it's recommended by GM not to drive in stealth mode ?

You have the story of my Vettes here.
