Default Pagid 8091 ccb bedding

Any one know what the bedding procedure is for these pads on CCB? I know the procedure on the stock pads, wondering if this is different.

Well.....8091 is simply the "shape" of our front pads. It is also the exact same shape pad used on several other cars with carbon ceramic brakes:

http://www.pagidracing.com/en/produc...hape-8091.html

And the rear pad shape is the 4906:

http://www.pagidracing.com/en/produc...hape-4906.html

You can see on both of those pages above, to the right of the pad diagram that they show the Pagid racing compounds you can get on those shapes - RSL19 (NOT for use on carbon ceramic brakes), or RSC1, 2, or 3 for the fronts, and only the RSC compounds for the rear.

Our OE compounds - for the C7 Z06/GS, C6 ZR1/Z06/GS, and Camaro Z28 (and I believe ZL1) are street/track compounds:

Front OE pad compound - Textar T4300

Rear OE pad compound - Pagid S600

If you want to run something different from the OE compounds, the only companies I'm aware of are Pagid (Textar on our OE front pads is apparently a Pagid subsidiary), and Endless.

Here's a link to info about the Pagid race compounds - on the site below you'll see several different series of compounds, but ONLY the RSC series (RSC1, RSC2, or RSC3) are for carbon ceramic rotors. Click on the RSC pad for more info:

http://www.pagidracing.com/en/produc...rake-pads.html

Likewise, Endless apparently has compounds that are specifically formulated for ccb's - their Pace (street), Attack (street and track), and Race (track only):

http://www.endless-brake.info/index....disc-compounds

I have not seen anywhere to purchase the Endless pads, but I believe I've read on the forum that if you can find them that they will be very expensive!!!

As far as the Pagid compounds, you can readily find the 8091 and 4906 shapes with the Pagid RSC1 compound. Take a look on eBay and you'll find the front 8091 RSC1 pads for about $700, and the rear 4906 RSC1 pads for around $400.

Whether the RSC1 is much different from the OE compounds, I dunno!?!?

I believe I've read that the RSC1 is very similar to our OE front Textar T4300 compound. I like the OE pads on the track, so won't be spending a lot more for the RSC1 compound (well....I might need to get a set, just to try them out!!)

And my OE Pagid S600 compound works great and lasts pretty good, so I don't plan to get the rear RSC1 either (well....maybe I'll try it one of these days!)

So.....after all that, to answer your question about bedding -

WHAT COMPOUND ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT????

And even after asking that question, I'm inclined to say - "THE COMPOUND DOESN'T MATTER!!!" I think that any compound I might run in the future, I'll bed them exactly the same as I do my OE pad compounds - the Operator Manual procedure of Fifty stops from 60 mph to 0 mph. I'm virtually certain that procedure should work for whatever carbon ceramic brake compound that you might use for your carbon ceramic rotors.

Just MHO, YMMV!!

EXCELLENT!!!

I see on eBay I can get a set of RSC1 pads for the front and rear for a total of about $1100 - so I may need to try a set as well.

I recently bought 2 sets of front and 1 set of rear OE pads for a total of a little more than $900, but if the RSC1 pads work real well, and especially if they last longer, then I'll need to get some.

And....as I mentioned, they're specifically designed for our rotors, so I think bedding exactly like our OE pads should work real well.

Let us know how they work!!
