I have a 2016 Coupe, non Z51 engine. My car has less the 3000 miles, runs fine, no issues but a bit concerned over oil pressure. According to the dash gage, it runs between 30 and 35 lbs, never higher. Previous Vets and other cars have always run close to 40. Any thoughts.
It is normal. Watch closely for the first few miles after a cold start and you will probably see it making several very brief excursions above 40 PSI as it goes through a self test of the dual displacement oil pump control system. Once it is warmed up try some high throttle acceleration with the engine in the upper RPM range and you should see the pressure ramp up above 40 PSI as more pressure is developed to feed the mains and operate the oil "jets" that spray oil to cool the piston bowls.
