one guy had his car totaled from one crack in the frame. I'd like to see if anyone could do this w/o affecting the structural integrity or the intended collapsing / force absorbing qualities.
Anything can be done, but at what cost and with what result? Such might be okay for a dedicated drag car, but I'd not want to really drive it.
Wanted fat tires tucked in on my old C5Z. I cut out 2” from the inner tub mini tub style using fiberglass to fill in the gap after moving over the cut sloped section inward. Nicely placed CCW 505a 19x13” wheels with 345/30 tires.
The rear carpet went over the widened tubs without any issues at all. Now.... on a C7 there is solid plastic covers in the trunk over the wheel wells that end at the trunk floor with carpet.
Not sure at all at this point but would like to do a mini tub on my C7 to tuck in 345’s.
Since the C7 has the plastic covers in the trunk I’ll be looking to see what can be done to maximize tire clearance once I remove and inspection t a rear tire.
