Default C7 Z51 hesitation question

I currently own a 2006 C6 I bought new. No complaints but it's a base model so I decided to trade up. Tried out a 2015 Z51 with 3lt trim. Beautiful car but when you rev the engine it starts with a hesitation and an air sucking sound. Dealer didn't care to address the problem. Certainly this isn't a normal sound and an accelerator action I would expect. Reminds me is out of sincronized carbs on anG Midget. Any idea of what it might be?

All I can say is my 16 doesn’t do that. Without you providing a lot more info, anything here is a wild *** guess.

If I were looking at a used C7, I’d probably request it be taken to a dealer and have it checked out. If the car is tuned, I’d like to know that before I buy it. Yes you will pay a bit, but it could save you a lot later.

The hesitation you feel may be the infamous throttle lag.

Many DBW cars have some TL.My '17 LT1 has more on-throttle and off, than I like.

Perfectly normal on most GM vehicles, at least those with V8 engines. The Vitesse throttle module will make the problem go away.

mine does it too,, 17 GS

when looking at cars I sat in/started several and they all did it, Camaro too,, bugged me at first but now I don't think of it much. a friend of mine drove my car and kept stalling from a dead start though.

I figured it has something to do with being programmed hyper lean at idle to make some fuel numbers,,,just a guess

I have a 15 Base A8 and does not ever shows this issue, fantastic touchy throttle response it sport mode. This maybe a manual transmission car issue.

Time to move on to another potential buy, imho.

What I think it might be is an intentional design feature to aid the driver in getting back on the throttle after apexing so that you don't inadvertently spin the car off the road. The throttle opens slowly compared to most of what we drive and the perception is that the engine is lagging. I've seen video where Randy Pobst was discussing this particular feature (although I think he was talking about another GM car, like maybe the Camaro) and he was very pleased with it.

The C5 Z06 did not have this arrangement and it took a high percentage of brain cells to remind yourself to be very gentle with the throttle while exiting a corner.

They all do it unless you get rid of the hesitation. Some people notice it more than others.
