Default Engine bay covers

While I love my '16 Z51 Stingray, I am not pleased the general appearance of the engine bay. As with my other Vettes, gonna do something about it. Would like your thoughts and advice. I have cut out a template for the engine bay...it will run from the front of the wiper tray (already prettied that up) to the rear of the bumper cover in front of the hood. (already prettied up the extractor) and fender to fender. It will cover everything except my hydro carbon fiber plenum cover, hydro carbon fiber T/B nose tube cover and fuel rail covers - they will be either painted Long Beach red or Hydro carbon fiber. The only other thing not covered will be the opening where hot air comes out of the radiator to the heat extractor. I am considering at using Lexan or Acrylic.

My concern is heat build up below the cover. Is this a valid concern? Solutions to resolve if it is a problem? Thank you so much.

Some of the fancy European car makers do what you are suggesting. Mostly because they don't want their customers servicing their cars and would rather make so they have to take back to the Stealerships for service. But they do look slick!

I'm not sure if Acrylic could stand the heat or would just warp. Try it and see and look for any melting.

I am also working with 1/8 hardboard which I could paint. It has a white finish on one side but, I don't think the wihite will look good - LBR car.

I will post how it works out with pictures. thanks

That is the way to do it! But, it will have a negative impact on the economy - all the Corvette after market vendors will be out of business. Car shows would also be boring.
