I have a '17 Grand Sport and would like to get the track alignment specified in the manual. MacMulkin's where I bought it (2nd largest Corvette dealer in US) says that they do not do this. Another dealer researched it out and said that it would cost $350 since they have to remove lower fascia.
Is it really this big a deal?
Does anyone know of where in or near Massachusetts I could get this done?

Weird... I'm surprised MacMulkin wouldn't do it. I bought my '18 GS from them. Had my local dealer in St. Louis do a track alignment including rear caster adjustment, they charged their standard $120.
I’m getting mine aligned to DSC specs next week at my dealer and they said it would be the same cost as it would be to align back to factory spec.
I had my GS aligned close to DSC specs in Houston at Tracktime Performance. They don't have to do anything unusual to the car to do the alignment. Just make sure they have the rear caster tool. Should be $150 or so.

They do, my buddy that runs the dealership races Corvette’s and services most of the local racers as well. He said the alignment really makes the DSC come to life.
I took the car over to FastTrack, totally satisfied, cost 60% less than the dealer wanted, done in a hour (dealer wanted it all day) and printout of pre and post measurements.
Thanks!
Glad that worked out for you. I have recommended this place to several friends with all kinds of different cars and all have been very pleased with their work.
I just got my 2017 GS last fall and haven't raced it yet. Does it come from the factory aligned for the Track or the Street? I want to give my mechanic the specifications for both so he car properly align it for me.

You dont get both, i.e. its mostly track OR mostly street or a middle ground.
My z06 was roughly -1.2 up front -1.0 rear, a very good performance street alignment from the factory.
I had it aligned to the "level 2" DSC alignment for street/track. Its an agressive street/medium track alignment. -2.0 front , - 1.7 rear.
You can run the DSC alignment without the controller. The most important part is finding a shop that knows about the rear caster.

Does your mechanic have the tools to measure rear caster? Very knowledgeable mechanics haven't heard of rear caster adjustment. The GM TSB discussing setting the GM recommended track settings is attached. It is a little different than DSC's but it defines how to measure rear caster and how many shims should be removed. DSC doesn't suggest as wide a tolerance as the GM spec does and sets the rear caster more positive than GM's setting. That positive setting makes it hard to adjust rear toe using the stock toe link in the rear as the adjustment range is too small. Some people purchase the Granatelli Toe link which provides a greater adjustment range.
Thanks. Please enlighten me. What do you mean when you said "You can run the DSC alignment without the controller"?
The DSC alignment just refers to their preferred settings they have tested and recommend for these corvettes. I haven't installed the controller yet in my car.

Did Scott have the rear caster tool? What did he set the rear caster to? I live in ma and was thinking of having a more aggressive alignment done to my car for upcoming track days.

See my revised post. He neither adjusted nor measured the rear caster. I had sent the specs in before making an appointment since it was a 1 hour trip each way for me.
This is getting a little crazy for me. The fact that GM makes recommendations for their car that their own dealers will not comply with is itself a major problem.
I have the same car and went to FasTrack in Peabody. Go see Scott, he is the owner, an accomplished racer and overall great dude.
I am following up on your suggestion about FasTrack. In looking at the printout again and communicating with Scott, he did not adjust or measure the rear caster which seems to be part of the issue with C7 alignments.
