Hi Guys, Im prepping my car for a track day and had a fabricator replace my stock battery with a lightweight lithium battery, in the process we had the battery completely disconnected several times.
After re connecting I’m having some weird things happening - the windshield wipers came on intermittently, dash flashed a few times and the car said to cycle the windows ( wipers stopped after cycling the windows ) now just a “service diff” message remains . I am out of town and my fabricator was afraid to drive the car. Any advice ? Does the car just need to re boot ?
Disconnect the battery again for a minute or two and reconnect it. I've seen some pretty funky behavior following a jumpstart that persisted for quite a time.
After that you may have to index the windows, that might be unavoidable depending where they were parked.
In fact I lost my outdoor temp display and "rebooted" a couple of times without luck only to have it magically come back on its own about a week later...
I just replaced my battery with the best battery the chevy dealership offered. Amazing how much better car started when I thought it was my "cam" making it not start immediately.
The car's network probably set a no communication error code with the differential control module. I don't know if you can pull those with a generic OBD2 scanner or not. But as long as nothing actually wrong with the diff module, it should clear itself after a couple of engine on/off sequences.
Oh yeah, and course, make sure the battery is actually fully charged when you do reconnect it. Letting all these computers fight it out at bad voltage levels generally yields some nonsense!

oh wow that is a huge one, the fabricator was reconnecting the battery with minimal voltage to just get the seat instal done

Whats the point of the lithium battery?
I’m running a time trial group that’s pretty competitive and I’m taking 100 lbs off the car for the event. The lithium battery saves 20.
Unless the lithium is fully charged you don't have much of a chance of getting things to work right. I hope you have a lithium specific charger to do this initially. Some vehicles seem very sensitive to them anyway, for some reason. All the best!

it was not fully charged ,,, I bought the lithium charger ,,, still having problems
when the motor is revved up the dash cycles off,the windshield wipers cycle and there is a click in the door ?’!??!!
i hope I didn’t mess the car up. Going to put the stock battery back in and see if that helps.
anyone have any ideas? Hopefully the system is just too finneky for the lithium battery and the system is cycling off/on
Disconnect both battery cables and touch the ends together for a few seconds. That will help discharge any capacitive nodes in the system. Once that is done reconnect a fully charged battery and see what happens.

Thank you Bill that did re set the car, whew.
The Lithium battery will not work on this car, I’m not sure if the battery has a problem but I’m going to take it back to the manufacturer, luckily they are local and we’re really nice when I bought it
Take a look at the antigravity rs-30 battery i want to do that one soon.
That is the exact battery that would not work.
I bought the specific charger and everything. I have not had time to contact them about the battery causing problems I just wanted to get the car running and track prepped
I will call them tomorrow and discuss, I may have had a defective one - many people are using them without problems.
