What things should we be looking for in a Tuner? I mean, how do you find a vetted (lol) tuner that you can trust in your area? In Michigan, so I'm talking with Livernois.
I know Livernois is very well respected for their LS builds, but after talking with them about LT motors I didn’t feel comfortable taking my car there. I’m having MJD do some work and tune my car (they use Pat G). Other than that, in Michigan, I’d use Dr. Phil!
Gen5 stuff is NOT gen 4 stuff when it comes to tuning. I know more than just a little of what I speak, guys that have been tuning for decades can make fairly large errors and/or not be able to nail down a tune related issue. Find someone who’s been there, done that a BUNCH of times.
At least 2 great tuners have been recommended in this thread, one could always join HPT forum and ask for help locally. Then you need to vet them yourself. Don’t go by what it says under a persons avatar, just because it says you are an advanced or senior tuner (like mine does), does NOT mean you are. Over there it goes by post count...

Pat G is really good also from what I have heard. But I am in TENN getting T/AKID doing my car now. Robert

👍🏼 Completely agree!!! I looked and found someone that has done an amazing job tuning Gen 5 not just for dyno numbers but for streetability and overall durability!

What turned you off? Does Katech do any of this stuff or do they only tune for their packages?

So, when I was talking to all the local shops about building my C7Z Livernois just didn’t seem to have the knowledge. They did an amazing job with my buddy’s C6. More than happy to discuss details in PM. I talked to Katech about a build and was very impressed with them (I’ve been seeing their cars on Woodward for years, they’re amazing). I chose MJD because they can do everything I want, have incredible knowledge and aren’t afraid to steer you away from something that really has no benefit (and won’t hurt you either) even if it means less money in their pocket, and they use Pat G for tuning. I’d rather have one shop do everything!
its not not even close IMO. For the LSX /LT platform they are amazing. A silly amount of knowledge and they baby your car.
Dont go cheap when it comes to tuning your car. Give them a ring.
I drove right by them on my trip back from Florida! Lots of reputable shops down south. Vengeance, Redline, HHP! Up here we are fortunate to have Katech and an insane amount of smaller shops that have very respectable reputations and customer service to match!

We have actually done plenty of the LT engine builds as well, certainly nothing we arent familiar with thats for sure! We have done alot of z06 and camaro builds anywhere from small to full blown race builds such as 1100hp twin turbo z06 builds so nothing with an LT is something we cannot handle!

MJD, my car is actually there right now. I'm not sure if they use Pat G for the little stuff like my project; I'm just getting headers, axleback and a tune. I'm really, really trying to avoid going too crazy and adding a supercharger etc.

Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
