That's def a dropped valve. I'd suspect mechanical malfunction rather than a tuning issue. Could have been an issue with the head work or you could have broken a valve spring. One is the machine shops fault, the other could have been a bad spring/retainer assembly.
I was told the valve could have dropped bone stock & it's a part failure . Guess it's just a coincidence because there's a couple of other people on here not posting about the work they had done at the same shop ......

A stock motor can drop a valve yes. But not without a reason. I'm just suggesting the likelyhood of dropping a valve 1500 miles after having work done on the heads is a pretty weird coincidence.
Yes, a pretty wierd coincidence New block & new head needed & I get no refund for core charge since both are damaged !
A vendor in here is selling a short block for 4300.00,,, So that is new block, forged pistons & stock crank & block put together but no cam & no heads. You will not beat this price at all for all new parts.... Robert
That is a good deal, but I decided that for the difference in what it was going to cost I'd have bigger, better motor built. 427 currently being built & I'm hoping to get it back soon. The Corvette hasn't been in MY garage for the last two months & I don't like that ... LoL
