Default Ported throttle body

there are lots of threads on this.
did you find a huge drop in fuel mileage with the PTB ?
i can t believe i dropped a minimum of 6mpg. driving the same roads and same manners. put stock one back on.

i was getting 8-9Litres per 100km with stock and then it dropped to 14-14.5 litres per 100km.with ported, which equates to roughly 6 mpg US gallons.

Callaway uses stock throttle-bodies on their cars... that told me all I needed to know.

I can’t see a ported TB decreasing gas mileage at all. Maybe you’re giving it more gas ?!?

Nope, driving the same, sure the throttle response is quicker, but makes sense to me, drawing more air so needs more fuel.
We will see how the next few tanks go with stock one back on.

There's no way a throttle body is costing you 75% more fuel. At a steady 100 kmh on the highway, level ground, you should be in V4 mode and probably running 7-8 L/100km at the most.

75 % ? Where did u dream that number up? Sure V4 mode to get 7/8 L per 100 if you're doing 5000 miles on a piece of glass I'm talking about real world driving here

No difference observed, except the engine is more responsive.

Slightly off topic but for those of you running ported TBs, do you have before and after dynos? My tuner is saying the C7 Z06s don't gain much at all with a ported TB and said to notice anything I'd have to go with a 103mm.

Where I come from, 14/8 = 1.75 that's a 75% increase (175% total) in fuel consumption.

Math. It's the law.

I need to clarify what I'm trying to say, I probably missed represented it in the beginning if I'm driving the Highway 7 8 kilometers per hundred no problem, but when we go on our weekend cruises 200/ 300 km on the backroads twisties whatever then I'm up around 10 with a stock one doing the same thing with a ported I'm at 14 sorry for my confusion.

I have a weaponX ported throttle body and did not have any decrease in mpg whatsoever. I have the V4 tuned out but mpg stayed the same. I wouldn't think a TB would make you use that much more fuel.

But with Ported T.B. & intake, lt headers & A/A blower on the car I did loose almost around 2 mpg in the car. Same type of driving in town with my foot out of it totally. Robert

depends what you call "great"

at the local Shell station, gas is 1.40/L, which equates to approximately 4 US gal which is 5.60/gal + 30% exchange, so would be about 7.28 a gal for me.

Seems excessive but you are driving a Corvette......, don't take this the wrong way but if you are really concerned with gas mileage then maybe a Prius would be better....just saying lol.
