Default Exhaust Mod question

Hello all,
I am a new owner of my first Corvette, a 2019 Stingray, no performance exhaust. I would like to mod the sound of the exhaust a bit, nothing crazy, no fancy performance mod exhaust. Does anyone have any suggestions on a basic add-on mod I could do to the exhaust to get it a little deeper? Something under $500? Is that possible?

Thanks!

Yeah, axle back exhausts are expensive for our cars. Good ole corvette tax. I would save up and buy a pair of mufflers from BBE, Corsa or Borla. I didn’t have NPP either, I wound up going with the BBE PRT system. It has a deep classic muscle car sound but no drone when cruising, it also cost a few hundred less than the others.

Some folks have done a muffler delete, which will be in your price range.

the x pipe replaced the rear cats right? Are there o2 sensors in the rear cats? I haven't looked....not sure if this requires o2 sims or it is a direct bolt on??

^^

Yep, that is what they do! No sensors after the secondary CATS. All Vettes in the past ~10 years (or more) have X pipes. If you want to save even more money get a good muffler shop to replace the CATs with a pipe!

Yeah, that might be cheaper but finding someone willing messing with the CATS in an emission crazy area like NoVa would be hard to find. But, if I drive 10 min away from my area emissions are not required in that part of Va, maybe I can have it done there. Good idea.

I think the lowest price I have found on the x-pipe is 439 on amazon but haven't looked much further.

If you want name brand go with the corsa or borla, but if you want the cheapest option you can get an x pipe off Ebay for around $200. I ran one without issue.

I might be willing to sell my NPP. I think that would make a bigger sound improvement then just doing an X pipe, maybe someone can chime in. If interested PM me, it would be more then $500 however, only 5k miles mint condition.

IMO an x pipe upgrade would net you about 5-10% sound increase from what ive experienced.

Anyone know of the before and after of just the x pipe swap out on a LT1? Every time I search I get the long tubes and x pipe results

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...post1594948571 post #289 and nobody really expects much in the way of gains from a X pipe. Negligible power but noticeable sound.
