Looking for the "simplest/cheapest possible solution" is not advisable when it comes to your safety. No disrespect but would you want to find the simplest/cheapest brain surgeon to operate on you if you had a life threatening tumor? Please do serious research and/or consult a professional before purchasing safety equipment. There are many things to consider like would it even be safe to use a harness and harness bar with a GT seat? The answer is it would depend on your height compared to the height of the opening in the seatback which was never designed for use with a harness in the first place. Unfortunately, I have seen too many drivers permanently disabled or killed on a race track. This includes during HPDE's.

Safety equipment works as a system. For maximum protection in a street car used on the track, you would need a roll bar, 5 point harness, a seat designed for use with a harness, closed face helmet, and HANS type device. You would also want to retain the three-point harness for use on the street. Remove any one of these components and you reduce the amount of protection provided in the event of an incident. Also remember that many sanctioning organizations require the passenger be provided with the same level of safety protection as the driver. As for the safety of a three point harness, there are certain types of accidents where a partial upgrade is safety equipment may not provide the same level of protection. For example, the harness needs to attach to the bar at certain angle compared to the height of your shoulders. The height of the opening in the seatback may interfere with at angle and, as a result, this could result in a serious compression injury to your spine in an incident.
Remember that the car manufacturer designed your car's safety system around the use of a three point harness as well. Just some food for thought.
