Default Looking for cam advice

I have a 2017 Grand Sport M7 and would like to put in a more aggressive cam. I have read quite a few of the threads on this forum that have been very helpful, but would like some input geared toward my specic goals. My primary interest in swapping the cam is for sound, followed by HP. I love the sound of a more aggressive cam which is why I am not interested in supercharger/blower options. Between cam, ported heads, intake, headers, etc, I would like to get another 100 ish hp over stock at the crank, keeping the car naturally aspirated.

I do not track the car, but would like to in the near future. My wife drives the car occasionally, so it does need to have decent street behavior. I do not want her to have to worry about bucking or other side effects of the more aggressive cams. I would also like to maintain as much of the low end torque as possible. I am ok with AFM delete.

I have never owned or driven a car with an aggressive cam, nor have I heard one in a C7 live. I would appreciate advice / input from others who have gone down this path with their C7. If you have a set-up on your car that you believe would work for me, it would be great if you could post a sound clip and dyno results, if available.

I also looked at the packages from Lingenfelter and Vengeance Racing. Would love feedback from anyone running those packages assuming you think it fits my goals. Thanks in advance for your input.

I would strongly encourage you to get a video of a car with the cam you like before you make the leap. Find out what it sounds like to see if it meets your needs, then ask the owner what it's like to live with.

Intentionally destabilizing your idle can cause driveability problems, of course, so there's a tradeoff involved.

I do not have a very deep understanding of the technical aspects. Is custom based on my driving requirements and they translate, or do I need to specify lobe, overlap, etc? If the latter, I am in over my head.

do some research on how cams work so you be familiar with some basic operation on how they work. always remember the smaller the lsa the better it will idle, and have good drivability. explain to the vendor what your after. or you could stick with gm performance parts, and purchase their heads and cam kit.

Your goals are definitely realistic and we are happy to help where we can! Our full Cam Kit Plus package is on sale right now and will come with absolutely everything to perform the install. That being said, you really need longtube headers and a good cold air system (we offer Kooks/ARH, and Halltech/AFE respectively if you need these items) for optimal performance and the sound that you're looking for, as well as a good tune on the car as that is the most important piece for drivability.

As for the camshaft itself, we offer our "Stage 2 LT1" cam for your exact goals. This camshaft gives a great increase in performance across the power band, aggressive lope at idle, but still maintains both low-end torque and excellent drivability.

The other thing to consider when doing the install is a set of CNC ported cylinder heads. These will give another 15-20rwhp on average, and there is no additional labor involved since the heads have to be removed for your AFM delete anyway. It also saves time on the install overall since they come loaded with dual valve springs and eliminates the need for an install tool or the time to setup the springs. We just simply require your OEM heads back as a core to make the swap easy.

Here's another Stage 2 camshaft equipped M7 C7 for reference:
