For a high quality low dust aftermarket pad I recommend the Carbotech 1521 pad 100% made in the USA. A low dust pad that is rotor friendly and performs like OEM and last longer. 100% non-corrosive dust will not harm your paint or wheels. This pad also contains NRS technology. Carbotech uses NRS technology on all C4, C5, C6 & C7 front and rear brake pads.

Here is a link to explain further what NRS technology is exactly: http://www.nrsbrakes.com

If interested I will be happy to help you out or you can order online here http://ampdautosport.com/brake-pads/corvette/ Use promo code z28 at check out for your 5% discount.

ZO6/GS part numbers.

Carbotech™ Bobcat 1521™ The Carbotech Bobcat 1521™ is our high performance street compound that is our most successful compound. The Bobcat compound is known for its awesome release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. Like our AX™ & XP™ line of compounds, Bobcat 1521™ is a Ceramic based friction material offering minimal rotor damage and non-corrosive dust. Bobcat 1521™ offers outstanding performance, even when cold, low dusting and low noise with an excellent initial bite. This compound’s virtually perfect linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Bobcat 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 900°F. Bobcat 1521™ is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle, police cruiser. The Bobcat 1521™ compound has been found to last two-three times longer than OE pads you can purchase at a dealership or national retailer. That’s one of the beauties of Carbotech Ceramic brake compounds. Bobcat 1521™ is NOT recommended for any track use.

Powerstop Z26 brake pads are what a lot of us use for aggressive street driving with little to no dust. I hated the factory pads from a noise and dust perspective. The Z26's need a little heat in them so the first stop of the day needs a little extra pedal pressure, but after that they are great. Silent, practically no dust, and nice stopping power.

Put on powerstop z23. Inexpensive and very very little dust on my chrome wheels. I'm very happy with them. (I do not track my car).

Z23 and Z26 pads use an identical friction material, the only thing that differs is the shim. Z23 has a rubberized steel shim while the Z26 has a stainless steel. Doing it all over again, I'd at least consider the Z23 as well since it's basically the same product at a lower price. With that said, the stainless steel shim will handle high-heat better and while the rubberized version is designed to dampen noise, I have not had a single noise issue with my Z26's.

Got 'em, Agree completely. They're so easy to change, keep the Brembo's for track days, use the Z26 every other day.

Default Rear Pad Replacement?

I just finished replacing the Brembo pads on my '18 Grand Sport with Z26 ceramic pads.

I just wanted to question the length of the retention pins in the rear. When I re-seated the pins on the front, the pins came through the caliper until the shoulder of the taper was visible. When I re-seated the pins on the rear, there was only a little bit of the taper extending outside the caliper. I believe I have the pins fully seated. Is this common and acceptable?

The 1521 does not need bedded. Put them on clean rotors and just take it easy for a 100 miles or so and your good to go. Check your email I have refunded you the pre bed. I appreciate your business.

Power stops didn't turn my rotors brown, and I could care less if they did. I do not consider brake rotors a component that adds to or detracts from the appearance of a vehicle. And I see no brown if that is suppose to be a rotor your ashamed of. Do you worry about the appearance of the treads on the tires also?

I have had the same experience with rear retention pins on 2015 Z51. Not the same as GS, but similar. My rear pins definitely do not protrude as far as the front pins. Kinda disconcerting when doing the work and have probably beaten on my rear pins unnecessarily as a result. Never had an issue as with probably 7 or 8 brake pad swap outs (Powerstop Z26 for street and Carbotech XP10s/XP8s for track).
