I do not rely on Dyno testing, I rely on my time slips at the drags. I have run the 1/8 and the 1/4 with the OEM, K&N, Burger and AFE Dry, all are within 1/2 a tenth and 1/2 mph. Here is the time slips comparing the OEM and the K&N on the same night. You do not get any magic on a stock LT1 changing the air filter real world. The OEM paper may be more restricted but has may more pleats then the K&N, Burger and AFE.
I have a 2017 GS. My GS only has 1 vent line connected to the intake tube, it is an the oil tank vent. When I look at buying the AFE CAI for my car all of the pictures show 2 vents connected to the intake. which model do I order?

They all come with (2) vent connections.
Included in the box is a plug - use the plug if you have a GS or Z06
You will only hook up 1 vent hose and plug the other one
As title states whats the deal are they worth investing in - like to hear what AFE users think about it - much appreciated

I was an early adopter. I selected the lower restriction oiled cotton because I have used oil cotton for years. If you know how to clean and don't over oil they are fine.
As far as increased power the folks at aFe show dyno data of 17 hp. I have talked with their engineers and they are sharp and the product very well made. When I got mine, a forum member bought the system with the paper filter and had the car dyno'd before and after and got 10 hp. I look at it this way if I got 10 hp fine that is twice what I got wit NPP for half the price and I bought the aFe for the sucking sound at WOT!
Noise Experiance:
The 502 cid engine in my street rod has a 14 inch diameter 5 inch high K&N oiled cotton filter. At WOT that 850 Holley double pumper sounds as loud as the long tube headers, 3 inch stainless pipes flowing thought straight through Bola mufflers! The C7 is similar!
Cost Effective:
I removed the aFe from my 2014 Z51 when I sold it, cleaned and oiled the filter and installed it on my Grand Sport! Below is a pic of the two filters, obviously bigger as is the filter housing. Note the OEM filter is made in Thailand while the aFe is made in the USA!
Thanks Jerry for taking the time Buddy - have a BMS on the way going to give that a shot - looking forward to installing it this weekend I hope it shows up
My car got quieter after installing a K&N and I will bet it will go back to the way it was before (louder) - I hope

I installed the 2 line 2014 Z51 on my Grand Sport (one line takes clean air for the crackcase-can't take PCV air out of the crackcase without replacing the air with clean air. Not yet convinced that the one line doesn't do both on my Grand Sport!)
aFe suppled a plug for the 2nd hole! Call them, they are very knowledgeable. You only need a hose barb. Perhaps they supply that plug-ask!

Interesting, did you have ~150 miles on each to give the system time to optimize the air/fuel ratio before the race?
I ran the blue filter for a couple of weeks before taking it to the track. I was not happy with the results and was going to take the AFE off. Then I remembered that the Z06 that I saw weeks earlier which convinced me to buy an AFE (his car outfitted just like mine) was running the gray filter so I installed the gray filter and the next week in similar conditions put down the best results to date 'at that time'.
