Default Driver side oil cap

In a recent post Fyreant posted a picture of an Lt1 with valve covers off showing a oil cap on the drivers side valve cover. My car is a 2016 Z51 and I often wondered why it had an filler cap here when my friends don’t ; one a 2014 Z51 the other a GS 2017. See Picts. Can anyone explain this anomaly?
Is it safe to add some oil here during an oil change?

Oil cap on the left valve cover is for wet sump engine. Oil cap on the dry sump is for Z-51, GS, Z06, Z51.

Thanks Ron, I know that but if you look you will see this is a Z51 and I'm pointing out that on the picture above the oil filler on the white car was under the valve cover cover as indicated by Fyreant while on mine it is exposed. Can you or anyone else explain that?

Why would you want to use it when the other is out in the open and readily accessible? Just sayin'...

I’m trying to figure out why mine is exposed and other Z51’s are hidden? The red car is mine.

Looks like they (factory) put the wrong Valve cover on your car. Even though it has a dry sump they put a wet sump valve cover on it.
