Default Elite’s E2 catch can

So I bought the best elite can they had and aside from having very unclear instructions, included in the bag with the barb that taps into the intake tube, was an o ring and lock washer. The o ring doesn’t seem to fit anything and the best guess for the lock washer is that it’s for the replacement bolt they send for mounting the can.

Who has this can and found a use for the o ring?

thanks

There's a good DIY thread on Camaro6. Its not a corvette, but maybe it can give you some ideas?

Did you get it with the clean side filter? If so that oring if for that.

The lock washer is supposed to go under the bolt that holds the bracket to the car.

Yes, I ordered it with the clean side filter. The adapter the twist into the sump tank has an o ring on it and the other o ring is too big for it. Same with the filter that pops into the adapter. It has two o rings already on it and the other one is too big for that as well.

I figured that’s what the lock washer was for, so I’ll put that on there today, that’s no big deal.

I also included a pic of the hoses attached to the catch can. Is that how it’s supposed to attach? The instructions didn’t say how to attach it since the can pictured in the instructions uses the barbs and clamps

The fittings they include are wrong for that type of hose. That fitting should only be used with a braided hose and more specifically Fragola's Series 3000 braided hose.

The hoses seem to work for me. I used a lot of spit and pushed those suckers in there. Then got them pretty snug.

Kyle, have you gone to their website and checked through their instruction pages?
http://www.eliteengineeringusa.com/i...tructions.html

You could also give them a call. I installed a number of their products on my C5 over the years, including the Catch Can, and they were always very helpful in answering any questions I had.

Good luck and let us know what you discover... GUSTO

They'll work, but only because they are not under pressure. If they were under pressure they would blow apart in short order as the nut on the outside will destroy the hose as it is tightened down. The outer braid on the proper hose keeps the inner rubber hose from tearing when the nut is tightened onto the ferrule.

Lube for assembly, use WD40. I have tried everything out there and have assembled many AN fittings and this has always worked best for me.
