Let me apologize upfront as i'm not very active on the forums. I'm not great at searching for similar topics and finding solutions. My '15 stingray has given me zero problems since I bought it 2 years ago. It's only got 9700 miles on it. After returning home after a 1 month work trip, my key fobs (2) didn't let me in. I tried multiple times....no flashing lights, no door unlocking sound, nothing. When I did gain access inside, I got the dreaded "no key fob detected" message. Frustrated, I took a separate vehicle to work. That afternoon, both key fobs worked the first time I tried. So I drove it to the Chevy service dept and they tested both key fobs and indicated that both key fobs have a stronger signal than they are used to, needless to say I did not buy new batteries as I anticipated I would. The car started up with no problems the rest of the day. This morning...1 key fob didn't work. I drove the car using the key fob that does work and when I returned home, I tried the non-working key fob and sure enough it's working just fine also. In short, over 2 days both key fobs work flawlessly multiple times after the car has started and I drive around. But no guarantees that it'll work tonight or tomorrow morning after it sits in the driveway for a few hours. I did monitor the car battery this morning while I was driving. It moved slightly but seemed to hang out at around 13 volts. There was a checkmark next to the battery indicator and I have not gotten a low battery warning. Any help is appreciated.
On a lark, watch for exterior electrical "noise" in and around the car if it occurs again. RF noise could disrupt the fob signal.
Strange, but possible. (like an air compressor or refrigerator running nearby?)
Thanks all. I took the advice and replaced the batteries. Both are working so far, but the real test will be tomorrow when the car has sat for 12-14 hrs. I appreciate it your help.
