Has anyone had issues with the Apple Car Play in their C7 Vette? My Apple Car Play goes in and out while my phone is connected. Sometimes I can fix it by turning it off and back on, but sometimes I can't. Very frustrating.
I had the exact issue I would have to go into the settings press “forget device” and “re pair” because turning it off and on wouldn’t work. Eventually I got my phone replaced (for other reasons) and it hasn’t done it since, I have an iphone6s plus .....maybe it’s your phone?
I use an actual Apple cable and have issues about 5% of the time. The head unit will not recognize the iPhone, no Apple Car Play icon. Unplug, replug, most of the time that in conjunction with unlocking the screen works. Have had a few occurrences where I gave up - but it worked next time. Overall very happy with it.

Sounds like the same kind of issues I've had except recently it's been more frequent. I just replaced my genuine Apple cable with a new one. Haven't had issues yet, but we'll see what happens.

I just got my new 2019 GS and can't get CarPlay to work. When my iPhone X is plugged into any USB port it plays content through the car, but the Projection screen doesn't switch to Carplay. Does the comment above mean that I have to unpair the phone from the car before it will start CarPlay?

In my 16, my iPhone X automatically connects via Bluetooth. When I connect via USB, then the Bluetooth connection is automatically lost.
Are you using a genuine Apple lightning cable? Have you tried multiple cables? Have you added your C7 to the phone?
After way too long thank I should have had to research, I found that the default setting on the iPhone is to restrict CarPlay (I have no idea why), but I followed these steps and it works perfectly so far. Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions, tap Allowed Apps and make sure that CarPlay is enabled.
CarPlay was the only thing that was disabled. (facepalm). Hopeful the next person with this issue finds this thread and saves themselves a bunch of time searching and swapping cables.

Thank you for the response AHFE!
Glad you got it working. I have not enabled Screen Time on my iPhone (and don't plan to), but this is good info for others that may encounter this problem.

It does what it's supposed to, meaning simplifies the navigation, music and phone functions while driving. If you don't use Apple Music, don't listen to Podcasts and don't talk on your phone then there's not reason to use it.
