I have Black wheels on my 2017 ZO6 and want to change the stock chrome lug nuts to black ones. Anyone put aftermarket lug nuts on their Corvette. If so did you have any problems with them?
I use Gorilla & noticed I have to be very careful using any type of tool, manual or air, to keep from dinging/marring the paint on the nuts. I've used nitrile gloves inside nut recess or plastic but still can mess them up. Paint seems to be very thin coated, wish they were black all way thru. Probably some brands are better than others.
I use these as I'm running a 6mm spacer as well. So far have worked great and much better than chrome on black wheels.

I've got a set of black anodized 48mm length open ended lug nuts I plan to sell soon in favor of gun metal finish to match my new wheels. PM me if interested.
I've used McGard for decades. I bought a set for my 2014 C7 Z51, then after three years transferred them to my 2017 GS, still in perfect condition. The black coating is a nearly indistructable PVD finish ( see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physical_vapor_deposition ). I purchased mine on Amazon for $16/set of four.
Chrome plated lug nuts lead a tough life. Think about it, harsh elements, nasty corrosive wheel cleaners and lead-foot drivers. Not to mention overzealous impact guns and loose fitting lug wrenches. This kind of treatment destroys ordinary lug nuts which turns even the best looking wheels ugly. Tough Nuts can take the punishment and keep your wheels looking beautiful. Tough Nuts are guaranteed for life not to rust, chip or peel. McGard manufactures lug nuts in the USA to meet or exceed OEM standards for safety and durability. Every lug nut is fully machined from restricted chemistry steel made specifically for McGard and through-hardened for its unsurpassed level of safety. McGard’s plating process includes three layers of nickel and one layer of microporous chrome/black producing a superior finish while protecting against rust. Tough Nuts are designed and built for the real world, because life is tough. Bulge Style Cone Seat lug nuts have an extended seating surface that is designed to match the wider seating surface used on some aluminum wheels. For use with steel or aluminum wheels with exposed decorative lug nuts that are tapered at the bottom. This product may contain globally sourced materials/components.
If you go with the Gorilla the same tool takes off all of the nuts and they all weigh the same thing. I seriously doubt the McGuard locks weigh the same as the factory nuts. It will throw the balance off a bit if you use them.

First read this I'm like WTF? Then read again & tend to agree that IF USING ONE LOCKING LUG NUT per wheel it could be like adding a wheel weight in the wrong location POSSIBLY throwing off tire balance. JMO
