When I was reading the reviews about ported throttle bodies I noticed a lot of people describing their car as being more linear after the swap from stock to ported. For anyone who used this term could you please explain what you meant.

By now I would have hoped you used your friend Google. But, linear acceleration is simply the uniform acceleration without a change of direction. Most here (I believe) are referring to the UNIFORM part of that definition. With a ported throttle body, folks BELIEVE their car accelerates smoother without any ups & downs during acceleration. No hesitation when pulling away from a stop sign/light, hard launch, or going from cruising to WOT. There are even formulas to calculate this for each car based on tire size etc but that's W-A-A-Y more than you asked.
