Does anyone know if the dealership automatically updates your car software when you bring it in for service? I've been chasing down an issue where the car goes into REP mode on a highway pull and am led to believe the software may need to be updated.

If you purchase the VCX-Nano, you can update the modules yourself. It was a bit of a PITA to learn how to do, and if I sat down with it right now I would have to teach myself all over again. I updated all modules in my car a couple months ago. There is a thread on here somewhere with some vague instructions on how someone else did it.

the short answer is, do not use any of the software it comes with or download anything. you just go to this link and buy a license for $40 and plug the nano into your laptop and follow the prompts (in the link), basically. you may have to install a driver. all the stuff the nano comes with is for older cars. my car only needed an update for the rear diff controller and I think the BCM. https://www.acdelcotds.com/acdelco/action/subscribehome
