GM software update
Does anyone know if the dealership automatically updates your car software when you bring it in for service? I've been chasing down an issue where the car goes into REP mode on a highway pull and am led to believe the software may need to be updated.

They will only update the software if your car has the problem addressed by the software update.

And they will charge you for it if you're not under warranty.

If you purchase the VCX-Nano, you can update the modules yourself. It was a bit of a PITA to learn how to do, and if I sat down with it right now I would have to teach myself all over again. I updated all modules in my car a couple months ago. There is a thread on here somewhere with some vague instructions on how someone else did it.
