yes they do, heh.. have done a ton of them.. not sure what the issue is you're having, which is why I suggested you contact tech support...
either you don't have it in the correct ignition mode and it's timing out on you when you try to do an install, or you haven't run the updater to get the ecm unlock key to be able to install the tune in the car, etc.. but contact support as I mentioned in the email I sent you, and they'll getch'a going no problem...
Why not get a " Surface " sounds like you have HP tuners
Dave
Laptop, Tablet etc
Not the same as having a small phone sized thing that has multiple tunes loaded in it that allows one to switch on the fly like Cobb has.
I hate to have a laptop in the car on a daily basis just to change a tune when going to a tire shop or restaurant. I don't have a Surface or HP tuner thing and won't buy anything until I know I can change a tune on the fly. Why is the GM world so dated in this?
I guess not, I now have made about 12 attempts. Much more difficult than the old Edge or Mustang tuner. Maybe its my Laptop?
David are you talking about running the updater ? You can download the latest version on line at the Diablo site . When I updates my older I1000 it ran all night but it did finally update

I don't think I am that crazy that I have to put a different tune in my car because I am going to a restaurant or valet parking lol lol . If I am that worried I hand the valet 10 bucks and tell him I am parking it tell me where u want it . 😁😁😁
Remember writing to the PCM is just like updating the BIOS on your computer .. you should only do it when you have to as there is always the chance that you will BRICK it .... and that would just be bad .....
Yep, normal.. 2017/2018/2019 vehicles require a special unlock sequence... so what will happen is, when you go to install a tune the first time, the tool will give you a message that "one or more controllers can not be tuned - Contacting powertech for vehicle unlock... you will be notified within 1-2 days" - or something similar to that effect.. so then in 1-2 days (usually within an hour though) you should receive an email (if you registered your tool on diablo's site) that your update is ready.. or just run the updater again to update your tool in an hour or so - so then you'd run the Ignition Updater on the tool again, and it will update the tool with the unlock code for your ECM, and then you'd be able to tune the vehicle.
In August I called in and asked if the i2 would support the 2019. I was told it would not and there were no plans for it, that I would have to upgrade to the i3

Thats not the case.
i2 and i3 use the same tune databases...
Yes, I can definitely get you hooked up.. I've done thousands of these cars and do them daily...
Please send me an email at -- diablo DOT help AT gmail DOT com -- with the year, model, engine of your GM vehicle, any mods done to it, what octane gas you use, etc.. and I can send you a loooong email with info about the programmers, the custom tuning, the process, etc.
Thanks! -Lew
You're saying tune by email? How does that work? Is the email for an actual tune guy with HP Tuners or whatever? Or do you load a tune into a handheld tuner? How does it work? Thanks....
He works with our devices and you send him the tunes and datalogs from the device and he makes custom tunes using our CMR software and sends them back to you.

You log the car with the Diablo tool , send the original tune and the data log to Lew , he will modify the tune and send it back to you, you load the new tune on to the diablo tool and upload to the car . Rinse and repeat as many times as necessary till you or Lew feels that the tune is perfect
For mods like CAI , Ported Intake manifold or headers , it works rather well and you are not tied to a tuner who might go out of business in a few years as your original tune is stored in the tool ,
Also if you know what you are doing you can also make changes to the tune
If you have an Auto transmission Lew can also send you a tune for the TCM
When he is done your car will feel like a different car ... and ... if you should mess up in any way uploading the tune. 99.9 % of the time the tool will recognize this upload failure and automaticly restore the OEM tune . Ask me how I know lol lol
