Team,
I upgraded my C6 to a 2017 GS I’ve purchased for Copart. I was wondering if anyone had the same symptoms while starting...when the start button/brake is pressed, instrument panel goes blank (excluding engine icon) for 20 seconds and I hear the fuel pump (maybe..sound from rear. Then the dash eventually lights up but no crank. Engine will crank with start relay bypass...starter, relays/fuses, fuseable links and batteries are good. Brake switch is good. Led me to start switch or neutral safety switch (tried to start in P & N also). Is there a way to check the switches without tearing the car apart ...(dash, no lift available)?
Sounds like it could be a weak battery if dash goes dark when starter is engaged and draws a lot of current. Are you sure the battery is good? Load test or try with a jump start?
CAN OBDII Scan Reader fails to communicate, receive the following messages:
-Verify that the ignition is on
-Check connection
-Verify compliant
-Turn the ignition off and wait for about 10 sec...repeat.
Purchase this Scan Tool after reading other threads on the C7

Car was wrecked on left front fender and suspension, no airbags deployed. The electronic suspension module is damaged externally...I disconnected it (thinking possibly ground) but received the same results when trying to start. I did notice the drive selection Mode stays in T. Don’t know if this can/will change before starting. LT2, the remote start and trunk remote do not work.

Changed the suspension module but still no start and communication with scan tool. Nevertheless, I also notice more electrical issues I must repair before moving forward.
Thanks for everyone help...

While you are working on the electrical issues, verify that all of the frame grounds in the damaged area are intact. Fuses too. Until you can communicate with the ECM, it's going to be very difficult to troubleshoot a no crank issue.
I'm guessing something tripped off for safety reason after the accident. Fuel, ignition or both. I would check the Immobilizer system as well. Are there any service message on the cluster? You really can't work on these car without having access to GDS2 and sps. You will need to reset modules and or re flash them and can't be done with a scanner tool. Also most dealerships do not work on cars the have a salvageable or rebuildable title until the car has been title rebuilt or salvage. If you can find one, consider yourself lucky.
I'm rebuilding a 2014 Z51 Manual and I have GDS2 and SPS and been able to do a lot. However, I can't re flash my EBCM because it needs a security code that the dealer or Acdelco will not give to me and as I said before the dealer will not even touch my car until I get my title converted to a rebuilt title.
One dealer that I talked too said not only would they not work on it due to the title, but they would not re flash any module that was replaced by a non dealer.Even if they were a new and oem module. That would be me!
It's a huge scam.
Team,
One of the issues is a cut 20 pin wiring harness attached at the antilock brakes module. I’d removed the hood, disconnected the battery and currently soldering and shrink wrapping the electric wiring as a temperary fix. I don’t feel comfortable removing the harness without a lift...
