0.6 quarts missing in diff ?
I thought 5.000 miles was time to change the diff and gearbox fluids.
To my surprise i could add another 0.6 quarts before i drained it, :-0 did it out of curiosity since nothing came out when i opened the filler plug.
Next strange thing, there was pressure inside my gearbox???
as i opened filler box it gave a hissing noise and air pressure and fluid came out....? wtf ?
Cold car, been sitting overnight...
I have also noticed eLSD monitor inside DIC show 9-11% while driving straight, and goes down to zero when making a turn (at speed)
Anyone noticed the same and have an answer for us ?
tia

I changed my transmission and diff fluid at around 8k miles. My transmission fill plug also let air and spat fluid out when I loosened it up, nothing to be concerned about. My drained diff fluid was also 2.25 quarts whereas I filled nearly 3. It's a common issue and there are a couple threads talking about underfill from factory. Not sure about your eLSD DIC readings though.

ELSD % is the percent clutches are engaged. 0% would be an open (non-limited slip) diff and 100% would be fully locked up (solid rear axle).
There are some threads on this - my recollection is that the conclusion was that this is an almost useless display.

On my Z51 @ 22K both the tranny and diff were slightly low...
Diff = 2.75 qts came out and 3 went in.
Tranny = 3 qts came out and 3.5 went in.
I too had some hissing when the fill port was removed.

One advantage of the e-diff is being able to go open diff on corner entry making the car more stable. On corner exit you should see it adding % based on how hard you accelerate. Same with accelerating in a straight line. 9 to 11 % is normal for cruising and no accel. When mine was malfunctioning it stayed 0% mid-corner and exit. The display is very useful when needing analyze malfunctions. It also helps you understand what the system is doing to give you grip. The logarithms are different for the various PDM setting.
My trans hissed also. I think mine was under vacuum after track cool down.

Common experience and many threads about it. Fill it correctly and move on.

Thought I read about a case where it leaked when filled to correct amount but that was a while ago.
